I've been doing capital campaigns for more than 30 years now. In fact, my first job in fundraising was serving as a capital campaign consultant to the Ravinia Festival (summer home of the Chicago Symphony). I had no idea what I was doing, but I read a book, followed its concepts and won the campaign.
